Together for equal access
Together for Equal Access is a three-year programme designed to strengthen opportunities to participate, work and grow within the music ecosystem.
The programme brings together music companies, organisations and institutions around a shared industry certification, advisory services and capacity-building activities that support greater equal access and stronger workplace cultures.
Supported by Tuborgfondet and Augustinus Fonden, we are working to create lasting change across the structures, communities and practices that shape the music sector in Denmark.
Why is the programme needed?
The music sector is rich in creativity and opportunity. At the same time, studies over several years have documented challenges related to unequal representation, inequity, poor wellbeing and inappropriate behaviour across the industry. These barriers hold talent back and mean that society misses out on artistic perspectives, ideas and innovation.
When more people can contribute their perspectives and experiences, it does more than strengthen workplace culture and professional communities. It also supports the development of new music, new talent and stronger connections between music and the society it serves.
This is why Together for Equal Access works to turn knowledge into action through shared standards, practical solutions and collective commitment across the music sector.
Who is the programme for?
The programme is open to organisations across the music sector, with a particular focus on:
- Record labels
- Management companies
- Booking agencies
- Music publishers
- Venues
- Festivals
- Industry associations
- Other music institutions and organisations
Both small and large organisations are welcome to participate.
What does the programme offer?
The programme enables participants to work systematically with equal access, strategy and organisational development through:
Industry Certification: A shared certification framework with concrete criteria and standards covering areas such as leadership, representation, inclusion and safe workplace cultures.
Advisory Services and Learning: Workshops, peer sparring, learning programmes and capacity-building activities that help organisations identify barriers, set goals and drive meaningful changes.
Practical Tools: Templates, guides and measurement tools that make it easier to work systematically with organisational development, monitoring and documentation.
Networks and Knowledge Sharing: Professional networks and industry communities where participants can exchange experiences, inspire one another and develop shared solutions to common challenges.
A collective effort for a stronger music sector: Lasting change cannot be created by a single organisation alone.
That is why Together for Equal Access is built on collaboration between companies, organisations, industry associations, knowledge partners and an advisory board from across the music sector. The programme is designed both to support individual organisations and to drive collective progress across the wider music ecosystem.
